Vicky’s official job title is ‘Marketing Exec – International and Americas’, reporting to both the International Marketing Manager and to the Americas Marketing Manager. A typical day starts with checking her emails and creating a task list for the day; “working with the American market, I get a lot of my queries, tasks and emails outside of UK office hours, so there’s always a lot to check first thing!”
Once emails are checked, Vicky makes a start on her daily tasks; creating and sending marketing packs for IGT games and products, preparing for events and other project work, and sending a daily internal newsletter to all IGT employees which gives a breakdown of industry news for that day; “sending the newsletter is great, as I get to keep up with gaming industry news, but also it means everyone in the company knows my name from that daily email!”. By the afternoon, the East coast office in America opens, so she plans calls and meetings then.
“What I enjoy about working here is that no two days are the same”, for instance last month she was assigned with helping to plan a large customer event at The Savoy – “I had to coordinate the guest-list, invitations and menus amongst other tasks – it was hard work, but a lot of fun, and worth it when the event went so smoothly.”
Throughout Vicky’s career at IGT, she’s been given more and more responsibility and has really benefited from working with such a truly global company. As well as personal development, growth and really enjoying her job – she also loves her colleagues and the office atmosphere. “Since the merger with IGT, we’ve been busier, but it’s been nice getting to know new people. Our IGT London office is professional, but social with plenty of company and staff events.”
